It was developed by Masters and Johnson. The man’s partner stimulates the penis until he feels the urge to ejaculate, then squeezes the glans of the penis until the sensation passes; this is repeated before allowing ejaculation to occur.

Pelvic floor rehabilitation exercise

“These exercises are designed to retrain/re-educate the pelvic floor muscles to either contract or lengthen properly on command and depending on the need.”

“For instance, to retrain the muscles to contract, one should try to contract their pelvic floor muscles as if they are holding their urine, and hold it for 10 seconds, for 10 repetitions, like the Kegel exercises. But that is just part of what is needed for men with premature ejaculation.” Patients need at least four weeks of training (12 sessions) to learn the specific rehabilitation techniques and exercises with the help of a certified physical therapist.

Sensate focus or sensate focusing

The man and his partner begin by focusing on touch, which excludes breasts, genitals, and intercourse, to encourage body awareness while reducing performance anxiety; this is followed by gradual reintroduction of genital touching and then full intercourse.
